ShogiGridBase is built so you can play without creating an account. The default posture is local: board state lives in your browser, AI moves and hints run in the page on your device, and closing the tab does not quietly turn your game into a cloud profile.

What stays on your device

  • Current board position while you play
  • Difficulty preference for this origin
  • Recent games / win–loss tallies in this browser
  • Sound on/off preference

Clear site data, use a private window, or switch browsers, and those values start fresh. That is part of what “local” means here. It also means we cannot restore a board or recent-game list that has already been wiped on your side.

Accounts

There are none. No sign-up, no password, no cloud sync of your board. Installing the site as a PWA still points at this same origin; it does not create a hidden user database or a second account layer.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-GD0WD290YP) for aggregate traffic such as pages viewed, approximate region, device type, browser, and referral source. It is not a replay of your moves, not tied to your board state or local recent games, and not tied to an account because we do not have accounts. You can still play with analytics blocked.

Ads

Display ads are not enabled today. Placeholders in the layout are empty slots. If that changes later, this page will be updated. Ads are not meant to sit on top of the playable board or interrupt the act of making a move.

What may leave the device

  • Email you send us voluntarily (URL, screenshots, description of a bug)
  • Aggregate Google Analytics 4 traffic data — not board positions, move lists, or recent games
  • Normal host and security logs (IP, user agent, path, timestamp) for abuse prevention — not used to rebuild your board

Email

If you write to contact@shogigridbase.com, we use that message to reply, investigate, or fix what you reported. We do not treat it as a way to build a marketing list.

Children

The site is a casual game and learning board. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data by email, contact us and we will delete that message.

Changes

If storage, analytics, or ads change in a way that materially affects how the site behaves, we update this page. Also see terms and contact.
